The Current Status (2026)
Starlink has received regulatory approval from the TDRA for specific use cases.
- Enterprise: Available for maritime and aviation sectors.
- Residential: Rollout is limited. Most urban areas (Dubai Marina, Downtown) are well-served by Etisalat/Du fiber, so the demand is lower.
Performance Tests
We tested a Startlink Roam unit in the desert near Al Qudra.
- Speed: 250 Mbps down.
- Latency: 30ms (impressive for satellite).
Seeing the Satellites
